History of the Standing Bear Powwow:
The First Standing Bear Powwow was in 1995 as inter-tribal to help non-native people gain a deeper understanding of the significant contribution of native cultures to the history and heritage of Oklahoma and the United States. The powwow is truly an inter-tribal event.

Basically, six tribes – the Kaw, Osage, Otoe-Missourian, Pawnee, Ponca and Tonkawa – gather each year to celebrate their tribal heritage at this inter-tribal celebration and all other tribe members are welcomed as well as non-native people.

The celebration event attracts over 3000 people!

Annlee Cakes Native American Regalia and Crafts will be there with their booth and to share how to make traditional

Dream catchers and more with all interested in learning to craft. We have been a vender here for many years!
